A bit about my nonfannish life ...
I live in Japan and am married to a Japanese man and have two Japanese kids, but I'm Chinese Canadian. I teach English and love travelling.

A bit about my fannish life ...
I've always been a fic-writer, but I like making GIFsets too. I usually do one fandom at a time- the thing I was super into this year was Arya/Gendry from Game of Thrones. I tend to stan female characters and prefer female POV in most things. Honestly tired of narratives that need me to see the good in a badly behaved white male character. 

Things I'm super-enthusiastic about
Right now, reading! I've finished 3 books in the past few days that were all good to excellent: The Alice Network by Kate Quinn (SO GOOD! I want my own copy!), Uprooted by Naomi Novik (Also excellent and worth owning. Such good worldbuilding and action/tension loaded.) and Clean Sweep by Ilona Andrews (Pretty good first novel in a series. A fun Fantasy/SF premise and relatable heroine and two sexy love interests.)
I also love The Dragon Prince fandom right now, and I'm guessing The Witcher will be up my alley, judging by the GIFsets going by on tumblr. 
I will be doing trope_bingo  and chocolateboxcomm this year as well as snowflake.
Fics that I want to write: GoT: Sansa/Podrick, Sansa/Yara, Bran/Jojen fix-it as well as the War for the Dawn oneshot post Bound.


My transformative works policy is on my stickied post, although that post needs updating now that Yuletide reveals have gone up.

Jetlagged, so I'm trying to catch up on comments and snowflake until the markets and museums open!

I'm working on a Valkyrie&Hulk backstory fic for oldtoadwoman for Day 12 (and Day 4, I guess!) but since I write at the speed of molasses and I'm in Dubai right now, we all know that's not going up until snowflake is over BUT Day 13 seems straightforward enough:

I just love starting off the year with fandom_stocking and snowflake_challenge ! ♥

I got a bunch of fics in my stocking this year, plus a couple of AoS icons, so I'm pretty pleased! Giving-wise, I stuffed 33 stockings with almost 200 icons this year, and have gotten lots of nice feedback on most of them. :DDD

Special recs: tielan wrote me the most amazing fic as a followup to Familiar that just BLEW ME AWAY. Conundrum. (MCU, Thor/Valkyrie (Thor POV), M, 1849 words). She also wrote a lovely Jyn/Cassian ficlet called Ravelled Sleeve (Star Wars, G, 387 words). 

fadedwings also wrote me a sweet ficlet called twinkle lights (AoS, Mack/Elena, T, 362 words) and senmut wrote me an angsty Baze/Chirrut drabble called The Moment of No Return (Star Wars, Baze/Chirrut, G, 100 words). 


Any recs, f-list? I still feel kind of out of it from an overnight "volunteer" shift I did Tuesday, so I don't feel up to really combing through the collection, but I'd love to read any other gems. :)

Ugh, I skipped Day 6 because I've been focusing on fandom_stocking (which still needs pinch hitters! Sign up here if you can help out with a drabble or graphics or anything for people with less in their stockings!) but I can go back and do it once the kids are in school again tomorrow. This challenge takes no mental space to put out there though, so:

ETA: does anybody else have consistent problems getting DW to cut something properly? I STG I'm doing the correct thing in post editor mode (selecting the part I want cut, then hitting CUT, then adding the cut text in the pop up box), but then it just switches the cut tag to div for some reason? And manually replacing the final /div tag with /cut and removing the randomly inserted /cut (which somehow ends up halfway up the page?!) in html mode isn't working. ARGH. Tips? 

ETA 2: I'm deleting all div type tags and replacing with a href because at least THAT works. RAWR. I just want things to format sleek and pretty.
