Day 11
Share a book/song/movie/tv show/fanwork/etc that changed your life.
Hmmm, I find this a lot like Day 8's question! And I already said this last year about fandoms that changed my life so... um.... Okay, you will have to hear about random media then!
Disney's The Little Mermaid was the first movie I memorized from obsessive rewatches. My sisters and I can still sing any song from it, and I pity any poor unfortunate soul who missed this movie in their childhood.
Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert is a book I am not the least bit fannish about, but made me realize that I can write the way I usually do (in discrete but connected pieces) and still make something cohesive and beautiful. Still one of my absolute favorites to re-read.
I've really enjoyed passing on my love of Star Wars to my kids! They were so excited to see The Last Jedi on opening weekend! It also bears the auspicious honor of being the first movie they did not have to be taken to the bathroom during! (Yes, they sat transfixed through the whole two and a half hours, I am a proud mama! For reference, Spiderman: Homecoming this summer had me taking both kids twice each. LOL)

Date: 2018-01-12 05:05 am (UTC)I saved up my pocket money for the soundtrack of The Little Mermaid for months to be able to afford it, and then my mother wouldn't let us buy the video. (I bought it when I was 19 with my own hard-earned cash. It felt good.)
Good memories. :)
