So I figured this one was coming so I actually made my GIFset before posting this time. LOL

Train to Busan + Yellow

No idea why the director chose to use so much yellow in this film, but it's literally everywhere- warning pylons, the wallpaper in Su-an's room and even the furnishings in Seok-woo's apartment (who has a bright yellow sofa ever). Maybe it's a signal for "safe" or "normal"? 

I'm not usually a big horror fan, but this movie isn't actually gory, just TENSE AF. The social commentary on classism and the fallibility of capitalism when it comes to preserving society is even more strikingly relevant now. Sang-Hwa, the rough, working class hero, leads the iconic charge through train cars full of zombies only protected by his adhoc yellow tape armguards.

As for songs, I thought of Yellow Submarine by The Beatles and Coldplay, of course. Plus Daylight by Taylor Swift.

I really need to watch Train to Busan, I've been putting it off because I was afraid that it was going to be super gory, so thanks for letting me know about that.

And, thanks for the song recs, Taylor Swift is an impressive talent, as always.

It's so good! It's like A Quiet Place where the horror comes from the fear, not from anything grotesquely bloody.

'Train to Busan' sounds interesting. I'm not a fan of horror with lots of gore, but I do like suspense, so I may like it.

I think you're right, yellow symbolizes safety or warning.

Yup, I think the prompts are pretty predictable from here on out. (And I've known about them ahead of time since I made the color banners and yet I still haven't gotten around to making my yellow post. I'll probably end up posting yellow and green at the same time.)

I will add Train to Busan to my list of things to watch. I'd heard vaguely good things about it, but I keep forgetting it when I'm actually looking for something to watch.

Yeah, I think I'm going to do GoT plus green because Cersei winning via wildfire was probably when I loved the show the most. But then we have blue with the white walkers and zombie!Viserion bringing down the wall. Hmmm...

It's really good! I think A Quiet Place still has my vote for best horror film ever, but it's a great scary way to spend a couple of hours. It'll break your heart and give you hope and feels galore!

The set of icons from Inside Out are among the few I didn't make myself. They were just perfect as is. I got them from highlander_ii though I don't even remember when.

Horror movies aren't usually my style, but it sounds like I might need to see Train to Busan!

Oh me either! But if you liked A Quiet Place or World War Z this one is about the same in terms of dread/fear being the main horrifying thing, and not gory grossness.

Train to Busan was a solid movie, and that Iroh are is DIVINE I LOVE IT.

Isn't it fantastic? I love the little butterflies in it too, like symbols of Iroh being reborn under The White Lotus.

I'm always glad when I find other people into Asian films! :DDD
