No, one thing for sure Kol does not understand Freya’s choice for sacrificing Davina, it was explicitly shown in 3x21. And that little bit of Freya saying she feels guilt is so general and vague, like I would tolerate her only if she suffers a lot for what she did
Yeah, I disagree? I think he’s far more understanding now that he no longer has Ancestor amplified rage? Like would you choose one life over three others when you have loved two of those others for a thousand years? It’s an impossible choice, even if losing Davina is the worst thing that’s ever happened to him: his hybrid venom nightmares show this. Now consider this from Freya’s POV. The choice is obvious, even if it’s heinous. (Like I would 100% rather have Davina over Klaus/Hayley/Rebekah but that’s ME. Not Freya, or Kol.)
The very first thing Kol asks for after kissing Davina in 3x15 is to be reunited with his family. And then he spends the whole day with them even though he says he wants to be with Davina more. HE LOVES THEM. Loving her doesn’t negate that. (And it shouldn’t?)
#like I get that some feel romantic love should be elevated/prioritized etc#but I don't think that's healthy or realistic#like I wouldn't throw my sisters under the bus for my husband#I wouldn't be able to choose#and I think that is perfectly normal and not awful or something#and we've seen Kol's indecision before#in 2x07 he's given a choice: white oak stake or Davina#and HE JUST STANDS THERE STARING#and that was just Esther and Finn#(and his own vested self interest)#and then Marcel chooses for him#so we never see him make the hard choice of Davina vs his family#even after storming out in 3x16 he goes right back the next morning to try to save Freya#and show always always beats tell

You see, this is a problem for me here. Most of the idea of Davina vs family for Kol and his attitude to them comes from fandom, some people who want Kol to chose his family. But the reality is different:
1) Kol never explicitly said that he understands Freya/elijah reasoning even though fandom understands them
2) Kol was not presented with a choice between family or Davina, yes. But the most important thing is once he “killed” Davina, he was set on bringing her back no matter what.
3) In 2x21 he clearly showed his reaction and attitude to Freya who sacrificed Davina. It is more awful and disgusting because Freya condemned Davina not to death, but to eternal hell, fate worse than death.
4) Kol was never really treated as equal part of the family and the bond created with Davina, showed that she was his family too. Yes loving Davina does not negate loving family, but I also don’t like when people just treat Kolvina as stupid only romantic thing. They had unconditional support and loyalty.
5) Kol in 3x22 is clearly ooc and many people already noticed and are shocked by it. Writers needed to have Kol with his family in magic world. So they quickly changed his characterization from last episode which makes me roll my eyes. Good, at least they could make him helping family , but still cross with them. So I can’t really see Kol in 3x22 with his interaction with Freya as the legitimate and real one.
6) As much as Kol loves his family, he would not be able to chose them over Davina.
7) When I see now people saying how cute is Koleya, it makes me sick.

No. Your perception is different from mine, but that doesn’t mean your perception is the objective reality, especially when you ignore evidence from the text? Like???
1) Kol never explicitly said that he understands Freya/elijah reasoning even though fandom understands them
He doesn't have to explicitly say it for people to come to that conclusion. From 3x21:
Kol: "Were you so overome with guilt at what you did that you couldn't bring yourself to indulge in whiskey and finger food? (Freya looks down and swallows.) Or were you just too busy desecrating more dead? Is this to be your hobby now?"
(So he knows what she did and why. Somebody has explained somewhere between the two eps.)
Kol: "I personally hope that the bloody prophecy is true. You can all rot in hell for all I care. I'm just sorry I won't be around to see it."
(He's not intent on murdering them, he's leaving. And we see him packing when Davina's spirit contacts him.)
2) Kol was not presented with a choice between family or Davina, yes. But the most important thing is once he “killed” Davina, he was set on bringing her back no matter what.
He didn’t have the whole story, and now he does. Saying he would be unable to understand such a terrible choice simply because he had decided on something earlier (with less information) isn’t logical. And please remember that understanding does not equal forgiveness. I certainly don't think he's done the latter.
I also don't think he's forgiven himself. And he does blame himself, even though the Ancestors forced his hand. The price to bring back Kol from the dead was her life. Kol knew that even when he was on the Ancestral Plane, which is why he fought so hard against her bringing him back. And he didn't tell her until it was too late- that was foolish af.
3) In 2x21 he clearly showed his reaction and attitude to Freya who sacrificed Davina. It is more awful and disgusting because Freya condemned Davina not to death, but to eternal hell, fate worse than death.
Based on his reactions even in 3x20, I expected him to cut ties; that this was the final straw and he would become the Family part of the prophecy, Finn 2.0 with less fanaticism and more biting sarcasm. But I was wrong- Kol seemed to take a lot of comfort from being able to see Davina one last time in 3x21, especially because he realized she wasn't bound into an unknowable hell- her spirit cannot be brought back due to the mark of the Lifeblood Stone, but she is still herself on the Ancestral Plane, powerful enough to contact him and get her own vengeance on the Ancestors. Look at the way he walks out of the cemetary after 3x21 and compare it to the way he left in 3x20.
4) Kol was never really treated as equal part of the family and the bond created with Davina, showed that she was his family too. Yes loving Davina does not negate loving family, but I also don’t like when people just treat Kolvina as stupid only romantic thing. They had unconditional support and loyalty.
I agree with the first sentence, but I reaaaaalllly don’t think I’ve done the latter. (Like are you questioning my Kolvina shipping cred? Seriously?) I still think Davina is Kol's Always and Forever (and I will be surprised as hell if he doesn't bring her back next season) but that still doesn't trump his love for family; it means she IS family to him.
And it doesn’t matter if his siblings don’t love him the same way back: he loves them and doesn’t wish them dead, even if they “don’t deserve it”.
5) Kol in 3x22 is clearly ooc and many people already noticed and are shocked by it. Writers needed to have Kol with his family in magic world. No, he's not OOC. Everybody who is shocked hasn't watched older episodes lately (which I do all the time to make GIFs): Kol is almost always nursing resentment against his family members, but he still plays nice, especially in the face of a common enemy. He hangs out with Klaus in TVD 3x15 and then plays undercover agent for him until 3x19 despite getting daggered by him multiple times. He makes the Golden Dagger with Davina in 2x14 even though he made up with Klaus in 2x13 when they showed each other real trust. And here's his warm reunion with Rebekah in 2x09 right before he shoves her in Eva's body (which is stuck in the Dowager Fauline cottage):

He doesn't even do worse than beating up Finn for murdering him (and attempting to murder Davina). What he wants is for him to suffer, not die. What I expect is that he's biding his time to get revenge on Freya and Elijah, the way he plotted and waited to get the perfect opportunity to turn the tables on Rebekah and Klaus in S2 for their betrayals. That's what he does- he holds grudges and exacts vengeance.
6) As much as Kol loves his family, he would not be able to chose them over Davina.
He hasn't chosen them over her? She's gone.
7) When I see now people saying how cute is Koleya, it makes me sick.
I don't see what that has to do with my post?
