nrgburstSUCH AN AWESOME EP GUYS. :DDDD
So much Kolvina and Lucien! Cami and Davina finally interacting again! Davina's sins of the Regent past coming back into play! Kol alternately being a seething psycho and doing witchy stuff! Klayley being a Dynamic Duo! Matt Donovan getting bitch slapped into the ground! Finn getting resurrected and then thrown under the bus simply to prove how suped up Lucien is! THESE ARE A FEW OF MY FAVORITE THINGS~
I LOVE that Science and Research helped Lucien formulate his new superpowers, although I am a little sad that Freya/Lucien sunk. Poo. I was hoping they would hook up at least- he seemed to genuinely have a thing for witches. And I like the new red-eyed look and him tossing around Elijah like a paper doll. XD I thought all along that Kingmaker was a reference to how he helped the Mikaelsons pass off as nobility in the flashbacks, but it was actually a reference to his thousand year old endgame for himself. NICE.
CAN I TALK ABOUT THE AWESOMENESS THAT WAS KOLVINA THIS EP? (Yes I know the end is nigh, shhhh. Let me have this.)
THEY WERE DRESSED MATCHY MATCHY IN THEIR FIRST SCENE. <3 AND I CAN ALMOST FORGIVE THE LACK OF MORNING AFTER SCENE AGAIN BECAUSE THE BLOODWRITER SCENE WAS MY EVERYTHING. Their connection was just so palpable even though he's no longer able to do magic. And the parallels to the Kemiya scene in 2x07 were just :'DDD
THIS IS THE REASON SHE WALKED INTO HELL TO GET HIM BACK, OKAY. THIS SCENE WAS HOTTER THAN THEIR SEX SCENE IDEC
And OF COURSE HE'S CURSED. I just want to put my receipts for calling that here. *gloating* He's soooo going to kill her. How did I end up with another ship where the guy ends up overpowered? UGH. I LIKE MY SHIP POWER DYNAMICS THE OTHER WAY ROUND FFS.
There was lots of Davina yanking Kol's leash (the way his head snaps around when she says his name is just PERFECT hahaha) in this ep too, and I love how you can see her growing panic over how he's spiralling out of control into somebody she can't recognize.
I also loved how much of Kol's petty side we got to see:
He's still holding a grudge over being put into Kaleb's pretty boy body with almost no power while Finn got an upgrade! XDDD He wants all the toys he left scattered in the sandbox back! The gloating as Finn was suffering was A+ entertainment and his obvious WTF resentment over the rest of them feeling entitled to Davina's help made me sooo happy.
Can't wait for the next ep! If this season is anything like the last the last few eps are going to be Scorched Earth again though, aren't they? :OOO
