OKAY CAN I JUST GLOAT A BIT ABOUT CALLING IT. BECAUSE I TOTALLY CALLED IT. OMG. SIMMONS IS PULLING A SKYE IN HYDRA I AM SO EXCITED!!! (They have all the remaining research on GH 325, how could she not "go dark"? :DDDDD)

Also Fitz has a new lab buddy who is breaking him out of his self-imposed isolation by actually listening to him. *crying*

THIS STORYLINE IS EVERYTHING I DIDN'T KNOW I WANTED.

Plus Raina fully revealed to be an 084. And Coulson being aware of his own hypergraphia "episodes" and May observing/documenting!

Also Person of Interest hit it out of the park with its first two eps this season.First a reset with Panopticon, and then Nautilus upping the game. Such an amazing couple of eps, with some downright hilarious scenes (Reese telling the crooks to hold their guns properly in an awesome callback, Shaw being her usual snarky self, Fusco hazing Reese, Reese arresting Finch!) and some truly emotional ones (THE CARTER DESK SCENE, Root preaching to Finch about the morality of what they are doing). And a whole new Reese and Root coming into play before our eyes...but for Team Samaritan. And can I mention the amazing soundtrack???

This totally makes up for what a dud the season premiere of Castle was: WTFeven.

Also: How to Get Away with Murder was AMAAAAAZZZING. Such an awesome pilot. And Grey's was great too- the family is a little broken but stilll good. :') And Reign is tomorrow!

Basically I AM SO EXCITED ABOUT MY FALL TV OKAY.

Mack was amazing. I loved his interactions with Fitz. They were my favourite parts of the episode I think.

Ahhhh so you think Raina is also an 084? I thought that maybe she was just ~enlightened, but clearly this makes a whole heap more sense.

I really didn't get into HTGAWM. I thought that all the characters were AWFUL people. The plot seemed okay. I don't know. I'll see how tumblr goes with it and watch the first couple of eps that way then decide. Also, if my f-list loses their shit over it then I'm guaranteed to give it a better go.

She's actually not aware of the side effects- only the audience, Coulson, Fury and May have seen that level 10 report about project TAHITI, and Coulson has been keeping his hypergraphia secret. The only thing she knows is that GH 325 saved Skye from certain death, producing miraculous cellular regeneration, and that the Bus hard drive was lost to Hydra via Ward. I don't think she's even aware that Garrett took four doses and went batshit crazy since she was like, at the bottom of the ocean and stuff. LOL Interestingly: Raina did research on those 4 doses too...

Jemma's story arc in S1 terminates abruptly when Hydra comes out of the closet while she's trying to figure out what GH 325 is with Skye's blood sample in the Hub. She spends the rest of the season aimless- and now her best friend and lab partner has permanent temporal lobe damage. I can't see it not picking up where it left off, or her motivation not being to "fix" Fitz.

I know! I'm really impressed with the writers: that is what aphasia really sounds like- like he's so close to the target word, but he just. can't. get. the right one. I DIDN'T SOLVE THIS TODAY!

And I am so happy that they are learning to not be co-dependent but how awful to cleave my poor Fitzsimmons in two to do so! UGH. BRUTAL. OW.

Ahhhh so you think Raina is also an 084 Yes. She has deliberately paralleled herself and Skye multiple times. Whatever they are, it is not entirely human, but not entirely other?

Haha, I'm glad that Jemma's storyline makes you so happy. It definitely looks interesting, I'm intrigued as to how much the team know about where she is. Obviously they don't know she's gone to Hydra otherwise Skye wouldn't have been so blasé about it and thinking that she'd abandoned them. I'm very excited about it though.

I only started watching PoI during this hiatus, but yes, the music for it is phenomenal. Not just the songs that they use sparingly throughout the show, but the score is simply amazing as well; Ramin Djawadi is a brilliant composer. Have you seen Pacific Rim? He did the music for that, it's another one of my favourite scores (I'm kinda obsessed with scores in general tbh :P). I haven't seen 4x02 yet, but the first episode was good.

I started watching because of Sarah Shahi, I loved her in Life and someone recced the show to me because I commented on a vid for Shaw they made. It wasn't on my list due to the fact that the mains were two white guys and they killed Carter in S3, so I'm all, "lol no" after that, but Shahi's involvement convinced me. I'm still bitter over Carter, even though I knew she was going to die. I was crying in the episode leading up to it, the actual episode where she died, and then a couple of episodes afterward. XD Even though I was prepared, I was not prepared to deal with that. :( It's definitely missing something with her gone, and the reference to the desk being hers had me so sad. I was full-on shipping her and Reese (which they did on purpose lbr) and then she died. That was mean.

I do like their treatment of women though. I was rolling my eyes so hard at the beginning of the show with Male Power Fantasy!Reese going in and effortlessly beating everyone up. It's pretty hilarious when you marathon the show and he's just constantly kicking everyone's asses. But I have to give them props for having Shaw be just as hardcore as Reese (I still have problems with not calling Shahi's character Reese since that was her character's name on Life, lol), and also her being as fucked up and emotionless as she is, but them not dwelling on it too much or trying to ~fix her. And then having Root there as well being super competent and complex.

I can't really verbalise exactly what I mean, but they're just allowed to *be*. The show doesn't judge them and neither do Reese and Finch; they're just characters who happen to be women and aren't inferior to the guys. They're just as competent and sometimes even more than the males. Stanton was another awesome, unapologetic character who was good at what she did and went out like a bad ass. Honourable mentions for Zoe and Control as well. Maybe it's the fact there's no actual romance (save Finch with Grace, but that can barely be counted), therefore no need to Madonna/Whore the female characters. If so, then hurrah, but it's also sad that you have to remove that element from a show to avoid that kind of bullshit.

Yesssss Shaw is one of my faves! The other is Root. (And Zoe, but she is so rarely on.). And I HATE that they killed Carter, I was legit pissed off for weeks and only kept watching because my husband watches it with me. Like, WHY NOT KILL REESE. YOU HAVE SHAW. WHY DO WE NEED TWO MUSCLE GOONS. :/ I never shipped Carter/Reese though one of the blogs I followed was a HUGE shipper. Like they just never had that spark for me?

Yeah, agreed- it's as if they are uncomfortable with showing romance for the characters; as if it would detract from their storylines too much. Like Carter's boyfriend- wow she had feelings for him? It's hard to compute when we never see them you know, interact anywhere except the police station. But they are totally ship teasing ShawxRoot, IMO. And I sooooo want them to go there! UGH.

Oh that's right, we have talked about PR. You should know that I have a notoriously shitty memory (like, SERIOUSLY), so I forget a lot of stuff. Oops. But gawd, I really love that score. But his work on PoI is absolutely flawless, I'm so glad they release the cues on CD so I can listen to it while I read my books on the train. Haha yeah, they should've killed Reese instead, even though he's hot. But then again, I have seen comments about where they would take Carter after she took down HR being that she was working with Elias. Going down that path isn't something that will lead to anything good, but then again, who doesn't love a good descent into darkness storyline? At least she got to go out being an absolute bad ass though, the way she took down HR and pwned everyone was pretty much the best thing ever, I was fist-pumping ngl.

I wouldn't say I hardcore shipped her with Reese, but they piled it on during her last episodes just to make it hurt, and I bought it. Woe. :(

I don't mind the fact that they don't focus on romance at all, I only like very few ships nowadays, and I prefer friendship/platonic relationships being explored much more than romantic ones. It doesn't feel like it's needed in the show, but I can't help but connect its good treatment of women as being responsible for that. Like, if it did have shipping in it then they'd be judged and/or OSGed, so it's sad that very few shows are capable of both having couples and not treating the women like crap.

Oh my god, the Root/Shaw stuff is practically text at this point, the flirting is out of control, and I want it to happen too. I gotta admit, I pretty much don't do femslash, but I could be really into this. I need fic tbh lol.

I'm so glad I'm watching PoI as well. I thought it looked like just another procedural, but it's actually one of the most serialised shows I've ever watched (which is delicious because I live for serialisation) and now it's gone into full-blown sci-fi. It's my shit, man. XD Plus I always loved Ben on Lost (he was awesomely fucked up), so to see ME headlining a show is great, and even better that he plays pretty much the opposite of Ben, heh.
