I juuuust finished the GIFset for this prompt! :DDD Game of Thrones + BLUE (A Song of Ice and Fire) here on my tumblr
(alternate title was The Dragon has Three heads LOL).

It took a while for Nebula to grow on me because on the first viewing I just saw her as "a villain" and didn't really think about why she was the way she was. And then you pick up more of her backstory and yikes.

She's one of my favorites now.

I love characters with simmering resentment. Like when Thanos states that Gamora is his favorite daughter to Ronan and Nebula just stops in the background- imagine a lifetime of that?

I liked her interactions with Tony and Rhodey in Endgame too. Her arc doesn't make me want to rage anyway. LOL

There was a YouTube channel that I used to watch that would do "easter egg" reviews of movies. And I was gradually growing disenchanted because their vids were starting to get clickbaity (really stretching some of the connections on some things), but the final straw was when they covered Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2 and didn't even mention with subplot with the two sisters. They pointed out all the other plots that echoed the "family" theme of the movie, but they didn't consider the chicks worth mentioning. I unsubscribed and haven't looked back.

You know, it's funny: girls are always exposed to media where the protagonists are boys; boys are deliberately KEPT from media centering girls. And I think it becomes a subconscious thing: they don't even see female characters as anything other than prizes or male character adjacent. They're not people with stories worth knowing or hearing; any arcs they have are unimportant (unless they directly benefit a male fave). It's part of why I've just cut my intake of stories by white men this year- I'm so tired of male centered stories. Female writers usually see female characters as having perspectives worth hearing about, at least.
