The way she's watching as he opens it with barely suppressed laughter and jokes that he's supposed to wear them; his annoyance; the fact that the items are "personal" and "can't be donated"...

The way Raleigh describes Drift hangover in the novelization makes it seem like there is still some sort of connection between him and Yancy even after they've been physically disconnected from Gipsy and each other, the way they keep doing things in sync and knowing what the other needs. You see that in the movie too, how Hermann just holds his hand out and Newt hands him a handkerchief without missing a beat. I imagined how it would intensify after three consecutive Drifts in such a short span of time or with an 18-hour handshake like the Kaidanovskys had, reinforced by skin-to-skin the way kangaroo care improves stats of ICU babies better than incubators for no explainable reason. But it's true- I'm just making this stuff up. LOL
