Okay, so this is actually a reaction post in retrospect but:
My favourite authors (Ilona Andrews) have had one of their books (Clean Sweep) adapted into a webcomic on Tapas, so my sisters and I all downloaded the app a few months ago so we couldkeep throwing money at them for more awesome content support them in this new way! So I actually have been reading, just not the reading I used to do? Anyway, some things I realized upon diving into the world of webcomics: 1. they are a lot easier on the eyes because the text is bigger and there are pictures. 2. they are often based on Chinese or Korean Manhwa with tropes like reincarnated-as-my-past-self AUs that I've been noticing more and more on Ao3. 3. Episodes are short and snappy - basically they all take about a minute to read, so they are perfect on commutes etc. If you'd like to try out Tapas, I will put my friend code at the end of this post so you can get some free ink to start!
Overall, it's awesome seeing illustrated depictions of of Dina and Beast and Caldenia, although one of us Heartily Dislikes the way the artist draws the male characters. LOL We have gotten the "THAT'S NOT WHAT ____'S SUPPOSED TO LOOK LIKE" rant a lot, so if that sort of thing bothers you, er. Keep away, I guess? 😅 Anyway, the "episodes" are short and snappy and it's a delight to revisit Sean and Dina and Arland in the beginning sniping and snarking at each other, hehehe. Awwwww *pats* they've come so far - I am really looking forward to Sweep of the Heart getting released on the 13th but I have no idea how long the dead tree version will take to get to me. 😭No pre-orders since they are self-publishing, and I am DYING to read the last chapter which they oh-so-cunningly left out of their FrInnday email version of the book. Also I have recently discovered that nobody on AO3 has written Kosandion/Lady Wexyn fic yet and I am VEXED about this.
And there are another couple of Tapas series that I should rec too! Anyway, these are both WIP as well, but one is already almost at 200 episodes, so be warned: they are looong.

Solo Leveling - this is a webcomic adapted from the book series by Chugong. You can read ahead of the comics by reading the books, especially since it is currently on hiatus because the books aren't all out yet either, so the webcomic ran out of material (and isn't pulling a Game of Thrones move). There are some changes/additions in the webcomic, but it is pretty faithful to the plotline of the books thus far.
The plot follows a low level hunter who finds himself able to improve his skills by earning points towards stats as if he's playing a RPG videogame. It's thrillingly written and the art in the webcomics is amazing too! The action/strategy in it is awesome, and it seems to constantly end on a cliffhanger. This series is so popular that I think Webtoons also carries it, but I don't think their version is free? (You can get one free ep a day on Tapas up until the last 16 eps.)

I Shall Master This Family by Kim Roah
One of those Do-over-as-my-past-self stories, so that the protagonist (Florentia Lombardi) can right the wrongs that doomed her family in the past. She is cunning, manipulative and an extra savvy businesswoman because money is power. But at heart, all her careful machinations are because she's determined to save the people she loves.🙌 I ADORE HER. GO SITH LORD TIA! The art style is also oh-so-pretty and the food always looks so good too, hahaha. This is tagged with romance, but TBH there has been almost none so far: she is still a kid, and you can tell her prince is infatuated with her already but she's pretty clueless about it in this lifetime (and also possible the last).
Anyway, if you want to check out Tapas, you can use this code for free ink and then I think I get some too! NRGB682F And if you have any webcomic recs you want to share, please do! 😁
