First lines meme

nrgburstGanked from a whole bunch of different people on my f-list. I've been knocking around a lot of different fandoms this year and written more than usual- 13 fics written, a lot of them multi-chap. I'm counting first lines of subsequent chapters as the first line of fic that month.
January (nothing)

April- “Now, this is a story you may have heard before, but as this is my first time putting you to bed, I'll ask you to be patient with me,” Alfred warned. Lullaby (Revelations, Nolanverse Batman)
May- As a Stark of the Northern Water Tribe, Arya isn't used to the full on assault on her senses that comes with walking into the Outer Ring of Ba Sing Se. Bend it, GoTxAtLA
June- For a moment after he wakes up, Gendry wonders why he's not hungry and sleepily tries to review what orders he'll have to work on today. Break), GoTxAtLA
July (nothing)
August- Ty Lee is all too aware that her heartbeat is accelerating and her breath coming faster at the sight of the Fire Nation ship approaching. Disarm, Avatar the Last Airbender
September (nothing)
October- She says it distractedly, thinking already foggy from the way Cardan's lips are pressing down her neck; his clever fingers making short work of the ties on her dress now that they are back in the royal chambers. Break me like a Promise, The Folk of the Air
November- Dear Rojer,
I couldn't believe it, but Flavia decided to have all the higher level Talents spread out among the Fleet for a Merge. Taking Wing (Metamorphosis, Talents series)
December- Beth wakes up and blinks when she smells coffee. Openings and Tactics (An Exchange of Kings, The Queen's Gambit)
