AoS 5x11 All the Comforts of Home

nrgburstI was too emotionally compromised by this ep to review right away. I know "kill your darlings" is what writers are supposed to do but DAMN. Watching your fave lose her arms just SUCKS, especially because it was both totally unexpected and totally right in our face since two eps ago.
I had to go back and re-watch Elena's flashback (flashforward?) scene from "The Last Day" and in it, she's wearing gloves as she hoists a Kree axe over her shoulder and argues with May as little Robin trails behind her mom. They set up the misdirect there: "Think about what Robin predicted. What will happen if you fight!" and maaaan, they did an amazing job. (As an aside, it looks like she will end up with prosthetics like Coulson- but can they go as fast as the rest of her can?)
Seriously, this ep ran the punch-you-in-the-face game perfectly, with the Piper sellout (played vs. the red herring suspicious cop), the Ruby captive/ unnatural assassin reveal and most importantly, Elena meeting her fate. Like everybody else, I figured Kasius had cut off her arms, because Yoyo's specialty is stealing stuff, and he was so into Old Testament Barbaric Lesson punishments. He seemed just sooo gleeful when he was ready for her attempt to snatch his remote control when they met. And this whole time I've stood by the fact that a prophecy is not a prophecy UNLESS IT COMES TRUE.
AND YET. *cries* The idea of unavoidable fate is so soul crushing, even if there's the glimmer of hope that Robin and May were banking on. She made one last prediction, guys! It's not over yet! I have no idea how it will play out, but it might have to do with mystery monolith #3 and Flint?
Regardless, it looks like Kasius' Dad is on the way (THANKS A LOT PIPER), as is Hell on Earth. "Aaaaand we're back."
The one much needed bright spot was Deke! YES! He liiiiiiiives! Deke hugging trees and waxing rhapsodic over Zima was just A++++. I was snorting- how much did they pay for that product placement? XD (I'm all for it if it gets AoS renewed!)
Also: WTF was that promo?! Hive?! Daisy as Ghost Rider? It was all new footage and not recycled stuff, right? WHAAAATT (Also, can't Coulson just go Ghost Rider again and burn that crap out of his chest?)
