Snowflake Day 2

Challenge #2
In your own space (or their own space) interact with someone new.
Already done via comments today on my Snowflake #1 post (and others)! This is my favorite part of snowflake really- everybody is so fannishly enthused and positive and it feels like a big ole party. :D
Anyway, inspired by

1. My skin is finally clear for the first time in decades, and I think it's because for months I haven't worn makeup (which is a societal expectation here) because I haven't left the house or because most of my face is mask covered anyway. In terms of silver linings to losing my job this is a big one, and totally unexpected!
2. Wrote 93000+ words; my biggest yearly word count ever. Also my highest completed fic count ever (15) and most number of fandoms written for. The response to Check and Mate (The Queen's Gambit, Beth/Benny) in particular is really blowing me away- IME most fannish response is limited to the first week after a fic is posted, but people are still kudosing/commenting on it more than a month later! And it's just a one-shot so it's not like it's been getting bumped to the top of the tag- I don't even know how people are finding it but it's awesome! :DDD
3. Made 35 GIFsets and 15 fic header type edits and two of them passed 1K notes (Beth/Benny in Black and White, MCU+ violet)
4. Read more than 100 books, which is also a personal best since like, elementary school when there were contests and I wanted to wiiiin. LOL
5. Learned to cook some delicious new foods.
How about you guys? Tell me some great things about last year!

And yay for not wearing makeup!

It's so nice to just have healthy, bare skin and not feel self-conscious about it. :DDD

1. I am also glad the year has blessed you with clear skin. As someone who had struggled with acne since I was twelve, even after Accutane, which helped but didn't clear it up entirely, I *understand*.
2. Wow! That is a hefty word count. Good for you! I keep forgetting to include fics and blog posts in my yearly word count totals, and now I'm curious as to what mine is.
4. Again, wow! I only managed 61; just couldn't seem to focus for a long time, and ended up doomscrolling instead of reading or even binge-watching. I am aiming for 65 this year, just to keep my goals small and achievable, so we'll see how that goes!

2. Oh gosh, I don't include blog posts- that is actually just what I've upped to AO3 this year. It has a stats page that does all the counting for you- I don't even know how I'd try to quantify DW and tumblr posts!
3. I mean, I went for unfocussed stretches for weeks too just because 2020- I feel you! And I watched this documentary on Netflix (the social dilemma) that had me shutting down most of my phone notifications so that I wouldn't doom scroll! Once I realized that FB and other apps wanted to keep me scrolling past ads my contrary side went yah, nope. I REFUSE.

3. Hah! Yeah I'm sure I don't know the half of it, but what I do know is terrifying. I only use any of this stuff on my computer though, and I have ad-blocks installed everywhere. I took Twitter off my phone and haven't used FB in ages. I still manage to doomscroll sometimes though. I dunno why.

I mean, we basically live in the endtimes now- really who can blame you? *sigh* I am sending good wishes for the success of Impeachment two!

A positive for me is I bought myself a sunlamp and I feel much better for it.
