GoT 8x04

Last night's ep was one I had such high hopes for and wow. It felt like watching the 2016 election live results coming in? Art imitates life, I guess, and this was one of the great betrayals that has been prophesied but it just felt like one brutal hit after another and having been spoiled I just couldn't take any more and noped out of the episode partway through. Like the many, many Varys and Tyrion debates and all the stupid backstabbing felt a lot like Bernie supporters explaining why they just couldn't support Hilary as their candidate during the campaign even though they ended up with a tyrant in power instead. The deja vu freaking burns.

I think they've left an out for Arya x Gendry and I'm rooting for him to dump that title. If he follows in his father's footsteps, Storm's End is going to be just as hollow a prize as the Iron Throne was for Robert, and he already said as much in his dumbass proposal. I have an idea for a fix-it if the show doesn't go there because damn, I wanted them to be their own little pack like Nymeria had. The lone wolf dies. Although I guess this lone wolf killed the NK, so maybe not.

I also think that Jaime may be going to KL for Kingslaying 2.0 and he couldn't say that to Brienne or she would have backed up his horrible deed for an honorable cause- he needed to make her despise him and stay in Winterfell. Course Arya is also off to finish her list and I can't believe we are actually getting Cleganebowl too so we'll see who finally shanks her.

And I guess everything is burning down next ep. I really wanted to see Dany break the stupid class wheel and Missandei and Grey Worm sail off. *cries*
