"I still think Kasius has really shaken her loyalty with his actions from the previous ep, although his willingness to kill his brother in a fight over her scored him mega points back in her favour. Why was she so willing to protect him in the first place though? One wonders..."

He has shaken her -- and do you see this moment of uncertainty when Kasius' brother offers her a place as Henchman No 1 by his side? She might just regard him attentively to give Kasius time for his attack; that's one possibility. But the other is that she was weighing her options slowly, carefully.

I think there is a large number of explanations for why Sinara followed Kasius, apart from her saving him on the battlefield back when (which is really something to establish faith the opposite way). But there's only one that has got to be true: She's a female Kree, and we have never seen another. She's a female Kree warrior, and we have never seen another. If Kasius was already in the dumps, after desertion in battle, what's breaking with tradition and taking a female Kree warrior as his guard and confidante?

"And Mack and Elena courageously standing by Flint!"

I dislike the splitting up of the Team, I confess...though it makes sense. One, Mack has this child he can help, a real, live, human child to protect but also foster and make strong and good; it makes sense after Hope hanging over him and his choices. And Elena, I think, is seeing several things here: an inhuman she has the power to save and influence outside of strict SHIELD regs; a kid of color looking for justice and peace for the downtrodden; and of course, of course, that this Black boy means something to the man she loves, and therefore her. It is a continuation of the children storyline with the two of them we've seen, only in a way I appreciate, because well...found families.
