I LOVE YOU. I KNOW. !!!!!!!!!!!!! I LITERALLY SCREAMED AT MY SCREEN GUYS THIS SHOW IS THE BEEEEST
Plus the overhugging bookends. *cries*
I got so emotional at the Robin reveal! SUCH A GREAT WAY TO BRING THAT THREAD BACK IN. Her little wooden bird totem was just the perfect way to bring it all back in a glance too.
"Extinction Level event." But the one they are being sent to correct is the one in 2091?
So they are all in the actual Lighthouse in the postcard, which was built by unknown at unknown time but seemingly in preparation as an Ark as some kind for the human race. Great. At least Fitz packed a suitcase full of hands and a shotgun axe. And an evil persona that is apparently, also really good in a gunfight.
Like, that isn't the Fitz that closed his eyes, squeezed the trigger and dropped the gun a couple seasons ago. I love how they are making this worst part of himself something he can use instead of shove away and angst over. Plus Hunter being the one to help him unpack all the Framework stuff without judgement was just A++++. Bonus: Fitz's frothing rage at soccer games on TV was freaking hilarious BECAUSE IT'S SO REAL. XDDDD
What did you all think? +7 Ratings are doing good despite the timeslot move to Fridays which is awesome! Daisy vs. Sinarra to the death next ep too, whaaaat?!

Date: 2017-12-24 01:24 am (UTC)I guess he literally means an extinction level event as opposed to a planet-ending event that kills most of humanity. Or they couldn’t be sent back to the time of the destruction of the planet because they were there and time travel issues with past and future selves meeting…
Oh and the idea of Fitz going into cryofreeze for 74 years is really kind of heartbreaking to me.

Date: 2017-12-24 02:31 am (UTC)I know! The first thing I thought was: BUT HOW ABOUT YOUR MUM?! Maybe he thinks it won't be a one-way journey, but I don't see how that's possible. Hunter obviously did, and was pretty sad about it.
This was such a FUN ep! Ferrets! Bickering! Costumed hijinks! Although there was a nice balance with introspection and drama. I'm so glad this show is back!
I can't figure out the last prophecy- who are the two silver handed hulking black figures? Why do the people all have black hair? Who is the one on the ground bleeding?
The destruction of Earth has to occur, but I'm wondering why saving the last remnants of humanity counts as an extinction level event when blowing apart the planet didn't?

Date: 2018-01-03 05:42 am (UTC)Ahahah, I was thinking the same!
I'm not usually into Hunter, but I think he was the most suitable choice of the leftover SHIELD agents to help Fitz here:
1. Hunter has many flaws, but being judgmental is not one of them, the corollary of which is that
2. Hunter's own moral compass needs some good hitting against the wall here to kickstart it.
3. Crazy half-assed plans would never fly with, say, Bobbi. Only a crazy FULL-assed plan would do for her, and there was little time for that.
4. Espionage did come in handy here, in particular the whole "I know a guy who knows a guy who etc. pp."
5. The Brit connection.
